That lady from Korea who packed 30-kilos of supplies is impressive, especially more so when her motivation from a novel. As for the "nudist" in the youth hostel, I once had a similar experience many years ago (when I was 16-years of age) in Germany - that night, I could not sleep because of the cultural shock (even the girls shared the same shower-room with the boys).
Also, I learnt that only the Americans use the term "soccer" to refer to that sport because of the following event:
-Scene in Germany many years ago-
-Actors: German Kid A (GKA), German Kid B (GKB), German Kid C (GKC), Me-
GKA (to Me): Hey, we are playing "football". Do you want to play?
Me: Sure!
GKA (to GKB): He'll be on your team.
GKB: Cool!
Me (looked at the "ball"): Errr...guys? That's a "soccer ball".
GKA: No, it's a foot-ball. We play "football".
Me (to GKB): That's a "soccer ball", right?
GKB (to GKC): We call that "football", no?
GKC: Yeah. It's "football".
GKB (to Me): It's "football".
Me: ...
